The delivery problem arrived at the press.
Customer requirements arrived across emails, PDFs and artwork. Estimating used a spreadsheet, planning used another, and the floor worked from a printout. The promised delivery date could move between those handoffs without the job carrying that change.
Machine fit was also judged by hand. A sheet that no press could hold might be discovered only when it reached production. On-time, in-full delivery stood at 68%.
Approval became a check on what the plant could make.
Neuron turned the enquiry into a specification and costed the blank, the number of blanks on the press sheet, ply, plate and die. A quotation that had taken a day could be returned in a couple of minutes.
Approval checked the press sheet against each machine in either orientation. If no machine could hold it, the job stopped at approval with the reason. For an approved job, the sequence became its production route, naming suitable machines and carrying the ship date. Planning and the floor could follow the same job.
More complete shipments, with less board tied up.
Over three months, on-time, in-full delivery rose to 83%. The case reports about ₹60 lakh in additional monthly revenue from orders that now shipped complete, alongside a 12% increase in orders.
